FAQ

Answers to common misconceptions about abortion and what The Third Chair® Campaign promotes.

Q.Why did you call it The Third Chair® Campaign?

A. Every third chair in a school, college, or office should be left empty because that is how many people are missing from our society due to abortion. One third of our nation has been eliminated and the possibilities of their contribution to society to make our country even greater have been lost. We might have had the cure to cancer, AIDS, global warming and world peace by one of those who no longer are with us because they were not given a chance to live.

Q. Why aren't monikers such as "rapist, murder, drug dealer, etc." included in the "Might Have Been..." coverlet suggestions since some people are of the mindset that most abortions occur among the disproportionate and some seem to think this has caused the crime rate to actually go down?

*This question/response is based on an actual email we recieved.

A. We appreciate your concern over what should be placed on the coverlets but when God deigns to create a human being in His Image and Likeness, no matter what the circumstances of the conception or to which social and economic class he or she is born into, a new life is precious. We focus on the positive possibilities for which we are all called to. Negative circumstances in which children can be born are due to the free will of man which God gave and which gets abused. Circumstances of abortion go far beyond the disproportionate for statistics show that abortion among those who get them are not from that class but from those who have money and use it for a form of birth control. Abortion has become a fix for the selfishness of mankind. However with regards to the disproportionate of which people speak, many pull themselves out of their dire circumstances to become what God created them to be. God created each of us for positive purposes. Sin created the monikers to which some refer. What we are called to rather is not to abort those of which come from the disproportionate but to take care of them and give them a chance at life in which to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. Mother Theresa was a perfect example of this. We cannot play God by deciding who gets to live and gets to die... that is His job. There is not one human being that is not a well thought out creation by the Almighty and we are called to serve Him in all we do.. even by taking care of those less fortunate so babies might live. Many of those less fortunate have become great leaders of our nation and have made discoveries that have changed the world due to fortitude and hard work to get out of their poverty. We should never underestimate the power of God and all He can do to make this world a better place. The real problem is that God is not the center of all we do in this country anymore. Two wrongs do not make a right and by killing off babies whom we deem not worthy of life to reduce the crime rate only elevates us to that of Hitler's regime. The holocaust of these innocents is a crime of far reaching proportion that will inevitably bring this country to ruin. God is still in charge the last time I looked. This world is His creation and He alone makes the decisions as to who lives and dies for our ultimate goal for being here is to give glory to God in all things big and small that we do and to love Him above all else. We are called to love in all ways even those born with disabilities for it is our rising to the challenge to love that we change our hardened hearts. God's children, young and old, are a calling to charity. Where charity is love prevails. That is why we work with young people on this campaign so we can pass the torch of love and God's light to the world and help people to understand the true message of Jesus Christ: "Love one another as I have loved you." Jesus would never abort a baby born in disproportionate circumstances or that was born with disabilities. He would love them and take care of them. We become his hands and heart now in these circumstances and are called to do the same. We hope this message helps people understand why every third chair in this country should not be empty. God Bless.
